Fall Crimson Store and Off-Season Updates

We hope that the 2021-22 school year is off to a great start for everyone. First, if you no longer wish to receive Crimson Softball emails, you can "unsubscribe from this list" below. For those of you sticking around, here are a few Off-Season Updates:

Crimson Softball Gear Store:
You can order your Crimson Softball Gear now, and it will arrive in time for the holidays! Orders are due by October 18 at midnight.

Please note- we will have a second store opening after try-outs, but those items will not arrive until mid-May, which is well into the season. The Spring store is a great option for anyone looking for items to commemorate the season or gear for next year. Please plan accordingly.

Optional Off-Season Training:
Optional Captain's Practice will be held for all 7th-12th grade players on Thursdays from 2:30-4:30 pm starting late in October. Middle School players can ride the activity bus (if one is running) and join when they arrive. These practices and team-building activities will be run by our 2021-22 Captains: Cassie St. Peter, Elizabeth Berry, Katelyn Kasper, and Leah Ihle. Additional details will be announced once the dome is set up for the winter.

Optional Weight Training is available starting Monday, October 11 for all high school players on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:15-3:15. Please complete the training attendance spreadsheet sent to your high school player on September 24, 2021, and email to the 2021 Captains at berry020@apps.district279.org

Annual Winter Dome League will begin in January and run for 8 weeks on Sundays with potential game times of 8:30am, 10:15am and 11:55am at the Maple Grove Dome. Dome League is an optional, off-season training opportunity run by volunteers. Dome league teams are not indicative of 2021-22 season team placement in any way. Players will be invited to participate in the following order: Returning Varsity and JV players, then returning B-Squad as needed to fill specific position (pitchers, catchers) and/or other roster spots for two teams. Cost will be approximately $220/player, depending on the number of players per team. Thank you in advance to Chad Ihle for organizing Winter Dome League this year and offering our players this opportunity!

Spring Training in Cocoa Beach is being planned for Maple Grove High School's 2022 Spring Break week. This trip is a Crimson team-building tradition, designed to build in extra practice for the upcoming season! Coach Koltes makes invitations to players, starting with returning Varsity letter winners, then adding returning JV players by age and position until all spots are filled. This trip is completely funded by the players and families that attend, not any general booster club funds. Participating in the trip to Cocoa Beach does not guarantee players a spot on any 2021-22 team; all players will participate in try-outs.

Booster Club Updates:
The 2021-22 Booster Club board (Sally Hansen, Kim Brustuen, Brad Daniels, Chad Ihle) is currently reviewing the roles, events, and responsibilities for the Booster Club. We will be looking for additional members for specific roles starting in January/February. Watch for additional information later this Fall.

SAVE THE DATE:
2nd Annual Golf Fundraiser will be Saturday, May 14, 2022. In 2021, this event raised over $25,000 to support Crimson Softball! If you are interested in joining the planning committee for this event, please email Sally Hansen at mgcrimsonsoftball@gmail.com
